Heliopolis co. for Housing & Development subsidiary of the Holding Company for Construction and Development of the Ministry of Public Business Sector
On 14/2/1906, decision was made for establishment of Egypt Electrical Railway Company and Ain Shams oasis, Egyptian joint stock company.
In this regard, an area of 18000 acres sold (equivalent to 79 million square meters) from the Egyptian government to the company which is known later as New Egypt for Housing and Construction.
The Company succeeded in the establishment and development of Heliopolis suburb to become an integrated city and to manage the facilities of Heliopolis Metro, electricity and water supply until 31/12/1991, the implementation date of the prime minister's decree No. 1655 in 1991 to transfer these facilities to the corresponding authorities in Cairo Governorate.
The company is still continuing its efforts to complete development of all lands allocated to Heliopolis suburb.
The company is currently headed to work in development of projects outside the boundaries of Heliopolis suburb to contribute in the growing movement of construction, which is necessary to face the accumulation of population in cities and investing the company's expertise in this field by competency and technical cadres in all areas necessary to achieve the constructive development. For that reason, the Republican decree No. (193) in 1995 issued by allocating the area of 5888 acres between Egypt Ismailia and Egypt Suez highways to the Company for the development of this residential land and creation of a new city, which is the city of New Heliopolis. Purchasing also an area of 93.71 acres in EIObour city district VIII from the New Urban Communities Authority for the same precedent purpose.
The Republican decree No. 266 also issued on 8/10/2003 to allocate an area of 1695 acres to the company in New Cairo city as a compensation for the new area that had been allocated to Cairo Airport Authority from the territory of the company (Circular Road East) and planning and studies needed for reconstruction is ongoing.
Heliopolis Co. for Housing and Development aims at providing lands with full utilities to implement different housing projects on it, according to the real estate market trends. This will be based on a market study and scientific statistics, putting into consideration the latest development in real estate industry
As the reconstruction of Heliopolis is almost completed, the company aims at working in parallel on new urban development projects outside Heliopolis suburb, such as:
- Nozhat El Obour: 94 acres at 8th district in Obour city, full utilities and services, consisting of 153 residential building, shopping mall, a mosque, as well as other residential and services lands.
- New Heliopolis City: 55888 acres on Cairo - Ismailia road and Cairo – Suez road, it is considered the extension of Heliopolis suburb
- Heliopark: 1695 acres in New Cairo city, it provides about 5700 plots of residential lands between 400-600 m2.
